About the book

De Savanne in de Boardroom examines what happens when an ancient social brain governs modern organisations. From first impressions and group formation to selection, leadership and decision-making. Not to argue instinct away, but to make visible when it starts deciding ahead of us.

Twenty-eight chapters, one epilogue. A single continuous account of one mechanism, seen from both sides of the table: the assessed and the assessor.

For candidates, hiring managers and directors: for anyone on either side of the table. The book connects insights from selection psychology, social psychology and behavioural economics with the practice of selection and appointment.
